M.O.G.
– Katrin Plavčak / Ulrika Segerberg

Press Release: dispari&dispari invites you to the gallery to attend a concert by M.O.G. – Katrin Plavčak / Ulrika Segerberg. The duo has been experimenting with electronic music since 2014 with sewing machines produced between the 1970s and 1990s amplified via contact microphones, voice and looper. M.O.G. record the sounds produced on the sewing machines with the pedal, guitar picks, or by holding the flywheel until the machines hum indignantly.

Live generated sounds are sampled and looped with which rhythms are generated. The voice is also used to enrich the sound production. If Ulrika starts singing she does so by reppin about wild animals, motorcycle rides, about having or not having money, or about how it feels when the ocean enters your room. Their concerts can be soft and fragile, but also chaotic and brutal, this will depend on the mood of the Mothers of God.
