dispari&dispari | Reggio Emilia designed the Gardesa stand at Cersaie in Bologna with a video work by artist Costantino Ciervo. At the invitation of the Sinopia agency, which has been dealing with the communication of the leading company in the production of security doors for years, we were asked to think about the design of an entrance that could strongly characterize the stand of the company from Piacenza and represent the fundamental values on which the whole production is based, Design and Security, characteristics often unthinkable in a single object. The Berlin based artist designed a stand characterized by two large lcd walls on which to broadcast “Quality Code” a video specially made with images of unicellular microorganisms that for defense have developed a harmonious but impenetrable armor. The video work is based on the meaning of the words Harmony, Wisdom, Power and Justice codified in ASCII language through a rhythmic musical sequence of “IN” and “OUT”. The ending “IN” mostly corresponds to hydrozoa, while the ending “OUT” to viruses. The music of the video was produced by the composer Davide Presi who chose a minimalist style to emphasize the regular cadence of the images. All interested guests will receive a press kit containing the dvd with the video “Quality Code” by Costantino Ciervo.

(ITA) dispari&dispari | Reggio Emilia ha progettato lo stand Gardesa al Cersaie di Bologna con un’opera video dell’artista Costantino Ciervo. Su invito dell’agenzia Sinopia, che da anni si occupa della comunicazione dell’azienda leader nella produzione di porte blindate, ci è stato chiesto di pensare alla progettazione di un ingresso che potesse caratterizzare fortemente lo stand dell’azienda piacentina e rappresentarne i valori fondamentali su cui si basa tutta la produzione, Design e Sicurezza, caratteristiche spesso impensabili in un unico oggetto. L’artista berlinese ha progettato uno stand caratterizzato da due grandi pareti lcd su cui trasmettere “Quality Code” un video appositamente realizzato con immagini di microrganismi unicellulari che per la difesa hanno sviluppato un’armatura armoniosa ma impenetrabile. L’opera video si basa sul significato delle parole Armonia, Saggezza, Potere e Giustizia (harmony; wisdom power; justice) codificate in linguaggio ASCII attraverso una sequenza ritmica musicale di “IN” e “OUT”. La desinenza “IN” corrisponde perlopiù ad idrozoi, mentre quella “OUT” ai virus. La musica del video è stata prodotta dal compositore Davide Presi che ha scelto uno stile minimalista per sottolineare la cadenza regolare delle immagini. A tutti gli ospiti interessati sarà distribuita una cartella stampa contenente il dvd con il video “Quality Code” di Costantino Ciervo.
