dispari&dispari is pleased to announce “Interior Shot” a solo show of Mimmo Catania. The exhibition presents a selection of paintings from recent years that focus on interior spaces. Throughout his series of works, the artist has always given an important role to the environment of our becoming in which all our existence takes place: the interior. A research aimed at highlighting some aspects of the spaces that are part of our collective memory, in which we all participate, in which we recognize ourselves. They do not need to be pronounced, they simply resonate, even in their absence. Catania, in doing so, manifests his growing interest in that meta-realistic language in which he does not represent reality, but what reality does to us.
dispari&dispari è lieta di annunciare “Interior Shot” una mostra personale di Mimmo Catania. La mostra presenta una selezione di dipinti degli ultimi anni che si concentrano sugli spazi interni. In tutta la sua serie di lavori, l’artista ha sempre dato un ruolo importante all’ambiente del nostro divenire in cui si svolge tutta la nostra esistenza: l’interno. Una ricerca volta a mettere in evidenza alcuni aspetti degli spazi che fanno parte della nostra memoria collettiva, a cui tutti partecipiamo, in cui ci riconosciamo. Non hanno bisogno di essere pronunciati, semplicemente risuonano, anche nella loro assenza. Catania, così facendo, manifesta il suo interessa crescente per quel linguaggio meta-realistico in cui non rappresenta la realtà, ma ciò che la realtà fa a noi.
